The rules are to answer the three W’s.

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I’m probably a 1/4 of the way through The Apocalypse of Elena Mendoza by Shaun David Hutchinson.

What did you recently finish reading?

I have actually finished quite a few books so far this month. I finished: Snow Like Ashes by Sarah Raasch, The Names They Gave Us by Emery Lord, Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid, and The Smell of Other People’s Houses by Bonnie Sue Hitchcock.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have a few ARCS I need to read. Carnival Magic by Amy Ephron and Legendary by Stephanie Garber. I also want to get to The Perfect Mother by Aimee Molloy, All the Beautiful Lies by Peter Swanson, Good Me Bad Me by Ali Land and Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. That’s probably going to be my TBR until I finish all of those.

Taking on a World of Words – Go check out the blog that created this.

The three simple questions you need to answer:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I’m still making my way through His Dark Materials Trilogy by Philip Pullman. I am almost half way through The Amber Spyglass. It is not as fast paced as The Golden Compass and probably slower than The Subtle Knife. Send help! I enjoy the world though and I think that is why I won’t DNF it. I just want to see how it all ends! I have the audio book for it as well as the physical book so that should really help!

I am also reading Ready to Fall by Marcella Pixley. I don’t read it often but I’m making my way through it! It’s going pretty good so far.

What did you recently finish?

I recently finished The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman (surprise, surprise). I gave it an average rating. I think some of the characters that were introduced (*cough* Will *cough* *cough*) brought the story down a great deal.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I need to read The Book of Dust by Philip Pullman and review it. That way I can just read other books not by Philip Pullman. It’s been a great binge sesh but it’s wearing me out. I just want to move on already. I hope The Book of Dust just blows my mind and makes up for the last two in His Dark Materials Trilogy.

If you have read any of these books let me know what you thought of them in the comments! I’m sure everyone is sick of hearing about these books but that is what’s happening at the moment. It’ll all be over soon! I promise. Remember, be respectful and happy reading!

All you do is answer:
What are you currently reading?

What have you recently finished?

What do you plan on reading next?

Currently reading:

Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan Mcguire. I’m enjoying it so far but not as much as the first one. At the moment I’m only 69 pages in so maybe it gets better.

Recently finished:

Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan Mcguire. I loved this book and I didn’t realize just how creepy it could be. It was definitely a perfect read for October. Also, can we just talk about the cover of this book? It’s beautiful.

There will be a review about both of them when I am finished with Down Among the Sticks and Bones. It would only make sense to review them together.

Reading next:

His Dark Materials trilogy. So, The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman. I have never read them before so I figured it’s never to late to start. Right? Let me know if you enjoyed these books! I also snatched up the audio books for the first two from my library’s overdrive.

WWW Wednesday! Oct 18, 2017

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words

It’s pretty simple just answer these three questions!

What are you currently reading?

Without Merit by Colleen Hoover and Into the Water by Paula Hawkins

3468462033151805

I’ve been in a reading slump and I think these two are helping me with that. They are both enjoyable right now, not my favorites though. Without Merit is fast paced and Into the Water is sort of intriguing. I’m about 35% through it and it hasn’t really caught my attention yet but I’m enjoying the read.

What have you recently finished reading?

Walk on Earth a Stranger (The Gold Seer Trilogy #1) by Rae Carson

17564519

I’m sure everyone is tired of hearing me mention this book. I haven’t finished anything since this so when I talk about what I’ve read recently finished reading, this is it. It was a fun and morbid book. I don’t know if I’m continuing with the series but I do recommend this book!

What will you read next?

I’m participating in Dewey’s 24 hour read-a-thon on the 21st, so there are quite a few books I’m going to be reading next. Here’s the link for my 24 hour read-a-thon tbr.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer (Buddy read)

31458203

Ringer (Replica #2) by Lauren Oliver

30457727

Every Heart a Doorway & Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire

2552629631450908

Bird Box by Josh Malerman

18498558

I’m really excited to read all of these! If I don’t get to them during the read-a-thon I will still definitely read them.

If you have any opinions about any of these books please let me know! Don’t forget to keep track of Taking on a World of Word’s blog for posts like these and other lovely bookish posts. Be respectful and happy reading!

WWW Wednesday 10/11/17

I have decided to participate in WWW Wednesday hosted by Taking on a world of words! I couldn’t decide what I wanted to post today because I have been consistently reading but I haven’t finished much of anything to do a review on.

The three W’s are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading many books, but the one I have been focusing on the most is Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson. I am loving it so much that I don’t want it to ever end. Good thing it is a trilogy. I am about 192 pages in and slowly making my way through it. I can’t wait to see how it ends and decide if I want to pick up the other two. I don’t see why I wouldn’t considering how great the first one is so far!

What did you recently finish?

I recently finished An Object of Beauty by Steve Martin! I rated it a 4.25/5 stars. I loved the premise and how it was beautifully written! I did a whole review on it a couple of blog posts ago if you wanted to check it out! Definitely recommend!

What do you plan on reading next?

There are a few options open for me. I either want to start Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven or The Good Thief by Hannah Tinti (I’ve already picked this one up but wanted to focus on my current read).
