Library Lover’s Book Tag

I was browsing WordPress for a book tag to participate in, and I found this one! I haven’t seen this one yet. I don’t know who created it, but I found it over at The Secret Library Book Blog. Go check out her post!

How often do you visit your local library?

I visit a library everyday, pretty much. I live about 15 minutes away from the library I work at. I do have a library closer, but they don’t have a big collection, and I can never find the books I want there. I do have a library card from there though, just in case!

Are you the type of person who checks out more books than you can read, or are you someone who checks out the exact amount of books you intend to read before they are due?

I check out more books than I can read. My library allows up to 40 items at once, and I have hit that mark a few times. Let me just say that it is very overwhelming. I do appreciate it though!

How old were you when you got your first library card?

I can’t even remember. I got one pretty young at the library in my home town. I remember checking out books that I didn’t even understand. The kids section? Who was she? I also went there with my mom to get on the computers. I worked on many a school project there.

Do you go to your library for a particular book, or do you check out anything that piques your interest?

I check out anything that is available from my TBR on Goodreads. I do get first glance at the new books coming in, and sometimes I’ll snag some random ones that I find interesting. Perks of working in a library.

Do you only check out books, or do you check out DVDs, audio books, etc.?

I check out books, and I’ll check out a DVD or two every once in awhile. I can’t listen to physical audio books. They are way too slow for me. I usually get my audio from Overdrive, Scribd, or Audible.

From what section of the library do you check out most of your books?

Fiction, and mystery. I’d say those two are pretty equal in quantity. The next one would be the Science Fiction section, and that section is usually for when I want a good fantasy read.

What is your favorite part of using your local library?

I love that my library is open to ordering anything they are able to order. They don’t really hesitate when a patron asks for an item. We even have inter-library loans! You can request a book, and my local library will try to get them from different libraries, and we also loan out books.

I love that they have a wide variety of books, audio books, CDs, DVDs, Magazines, etc. It’s very handy to have. My local library also has a wonderful kids section.

Working at a library isn’t really rainbows and butterflies. There is a lot more behind the scenes that most people don’t know about. I do like having this job, and it would be interesting to work at other libraries in the future.

I tag anyone who wants to participate!

I have recently joined the book community and I am enjoying it. I will be reviewing books on this blog as well as posting other bookish related posts. Most of the books I read are Young Adult but I'll try to read any genre. Let me know your opinions, but be respectful of others. Don't forget to tell people about this blog if you enjoy it!
