I was not tagged I just spotted this book tag over at The Mud and Stars Book Blog. I’m not really sure who created this, so if you know you can put it down in the comments.
Author you’ve read the most books from: Philip Pullman
Best sequel ever: The only sequels I’ve read of anything was The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman and Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire and they were not the best sequels. I guess I’ll go with Saga Vol. 2 as the best sequel I’ve ever read.
Currently reading: Eliza and her monsters by Francesca Zappia
Drink of choice when reading: Water.
E-reader or Physical book? Physical book all the way.
Fictional character you probably would have actually dated in high school: Probably Wallace from Eliza and Her Monsters. I am just loving him so much right now. He is very down to Earth and shy and I just adore it.
Glad you gave this book a chance: The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman
Hidden gem book: An Object of Beauty by Steve Martin
Important moment in your reading life: Honestly, when I moved two states away from my home town I became very sad and lost. When I started one of my first solid jobs I was able to listen to audio books and it sparked something in me. I read 30 something books in like 4 months and I’ve been so happy ever since.
Just finished: Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
Kinds of books you won’t read: Romance, hands down.
Longest book you’ve read: Sleeping Beauties by Stephen and Owen King. (700 pages)
Major book hangover because of: His Dark Materials series. It took me like two months to finish those books including The Books of Dust. I even DNF’d The Amber Spyglass. It was pretty bad.
Number of bookcases you own: I only own one and it’s only three shelves. It’s not even full. I work at a library and Overdrive exists so it’s easy to just borrow from there. I don’t really need to buy books. I would love to buy all the books but I know financially it’s not a good choice.
One book you have read multiple times: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Preferred place to read: On the couch. I’ve never been comfortable reading anywhere else. I read in bed probably once in a blue moon.
Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you read: “It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting” (The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho)
Reading regret: Not reading Harry Potter when it first came out. I was never the biggest reader so it never interested me. I’m still not dying to read it but I would like to see what the hype is about.
Series you started and need to finish: The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
Three of your all-time favorite books: Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng, An Object of Beauty by Steve Martin, and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. (Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini is a close runner up)
Unapologetic fan girl for: I’m not much of a fan girl for anything. How lame, right?
Very excited for this release more than all the others: Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire
Worst bookish habits: I always found myself just skimming e-books that I read on my phone. I just didn’t feel like taking the time to read them. My boyfriend got me an Amazon fire for Christmas and I’m in love. No more skimming!
X marks the spot- Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. This book is just letting you know it’s here. Every question I feel like has this book in it. It’s a great story. Worth a read if you are looking for your next book. It’s probably not everyone’s cup of tea though and I understand that.
Your latest purchase: If we are talking physical book- I let You go by Clare Macintosh. E-book- Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
Zzz-snatcher book (the last book that kept you up WAY too late: I don’t really stay up late to read. It will probably have to be my current read, Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia.
